Personal Journey & Ministry Heart
Growing up in West Michigan, I spent my early years living for myself until the Lord opened my eyes to His holiness while I was living in Southern California. After hearing a sermon on the greatness of Christ in Colossians, I placed my faith in His finished work.
My passion is taking the timeless truths of Scripture and making them practical for everyday life. I love seeing people move from simply attending church to truly belonging to a church family and finding their identity in Christ. My prayer is twofold: first, that those who are spiritually dead in sin would be made alive in Christ; and second, that those already in Christ would come to fully know, trust, and rest in the abundant resources they possess in Him.
Ministry Experience & Education
With nearly two decades of ministry experience, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of contexts and roles. For eight years, my journey took me to Uganda and South Africa, where I engaged in mission work that included church planting and the development of local leadership. These years overseas were formative, as they deepened my passion for equipping others and building up the body of Christ in diverse cultural settings.
Prior to joining Cedar Creek in September 2025, I served as the Pastor of Biblical Counseling and Discipleship at Maranatha Bible Church in Comstock Park, Michigan. It was during this time that Maranatha Bible Church began a partnership with Cedar Creek Community Church, focusing on church revitalization. Through this process, the Lord placed a growing desire on my heart to lead and shepherd the members of Cedar Creek, seeking to see God refine and reestablish the church for His glory.

Life & Family
My journey with my wife, Suzanne, began not long after I came to faith. For over twenty years, we have shared the joys and challenges of life together. Suzanne is not only my partner but also a steady source of encouragement and strength for our family. Her unwavering support has been a true blessing throughout our marriage.
Together, we are grateful to be the parents of two wonderful teenagers, Bobby and Maisey, who joyfully serve the body of Christ, as well. Each day with our children brings new experiences and opportunities to grow as a family, and I cherish the moments we share as we navigate life’s seasons alongside one another.
Outside of my ministry work, I find great joy in spending quality time with my family. We love to travel together, seek out new outdoor adventures, and share memorable experiences. Whether we are exploring nature or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, these moments are deeply meaningful to me.
Cooking is another passion of mine, especially when it comes to smoking meat and experimenting with new recipes. I also appreciate a good cup of coffee, which complements my love of reading. Some of my favorite authors include Paul Tripp, J.C. Ryle, and various Puritan writers, whose works have continually encouraged and challenged me in my spiritual journey.
In addition to these interests, I enjoy watching football, which gives me a chance to relax and unwind. Through all these activities, I am reminded of the importance of balancing work and leisure, and cherishing the blessings God has given me.
